The society's activities are divided into four main areas each related
to the underlying theme of decorative and fine arts. These are:-
LECTURES - We offer an annual programme of 10 monthly lectures (excludes August and December). Lecturers,
drawn from the NADFAS Directory of lecturers, are all experts in their field and combine a high level of expertise with an
equal measure of enthusiasm. Lectures are illustrated, of approximately one hour’s duration and followed by an
opportunity to ask questions. In drawing up our lecture programme, we give a wide interpretation to “decorative and
fine arts.”
Meetings are held on
the second Tuesday of the month at St Georges School Ascot. Doors open at 7.00pm and lectures begin at 7.45pm, prior to which
refreshments are available and there is the opportunity to meet and socialise with other members, book places on visits,
tours, social events, etc. Click HERE for directions to St Georges school. There is ample parking space in the school car park.. For the current lecture programme click here
VISITS and TOURS Throughout each year we organise a series of guided visits to stately homes, gardens, galleries, museums, exhibitions,
etc. We also organise tours in the UK and overseas. In addition there are Study Days -
sometimes in association with neighbouring NADFAS societies - which provide an opportunity to consider a subject in more detail. For information on current programme click here
SOCIAL PROGRAMME We also have a social
programme centred on a lecture and supper in the summer and a dinner party with appropriate entertainment
at Christmas. Click on the link for details when they become available.
CHURCH RECORDING We have a keen and enthusiastic Church Recording
group which has completed a full record of St. Michael and All Angels Church, Sunninghill.
Our Church Recording team is currently assisting Windlebook DFAS with the recording of St. Lawrence
