ENGLEMERE DFAS YOUNG ARTS AWARD

Englemere Decorative Fine Arts Society is pleased to introduce an award to support young artists to develop their skills and/or interest in the decorative and fine arts. The winner will receive £500 towards their studies, travel or materials, the runner up will receive an award of £250.     

The award will be for young people studying the decorative and fine arts including visual arts and crafts.  The closing date is 28th April 2012.

Useful information on local music groups

  • A number of our members belong to Bracknell Choral Society. This is an amateur choir which gives three concerts a year, at Newbold College Binfield and Wellington College Crowthorne. It also organises events such as Choral Workshops. The website www.bracknellchoral.org.uk gives information about the choir and its concerts, plus news of other upcoming musical events in the area.

  • You may not be aware of the Slough Philharmonic Chorus & Orchestra.   This is an amateur group of high calibre which uses two venues: The Centre at Slough and Eton College School Hall. They give about five concerts each year.  There is a website which gives the programme and box office details a   www.sloughphil.freeserve.co.uk.

  • There is also the Windsor & Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra which organises at least three concerts per year at local venues.   You can learn more about this orchestra by visiting  www.wmso.org.uk
