The evening society at Ascot launching a Young Arts Award in 2012

Engelmere DFAS is a thriving society which meets each month at St George’s School, Ascot to enjoy lectures from eminent speakers covering a wide range of subjects in the world of arts & crafts, famous artists, composers, historical houses and other areas of interest. The lecturers are remunerated so the presentation at each meeting provides high quality, intellectual stimulus which is greatly enjoyed by members.

Our society is a member of The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) and we participate in many of the external activities which include Young Arts, Church Recording and Heritage Volunteering. Englemere also organises regular visits to museums, stately homes and other interesting locations which often relate to a recent lecture. Our active committee also organises an annual visit to cities and locations providing a cultural past and other attractions. For 2012 we are visiting Bulgaria following a highly successful visit to Suffolk in 2011. This year we also launch the Englemere Young Arts Award to support young artists to develop their skills and interests in the arts. For further information please follow this link.
